YourDog Lymm kindly asks that all clients read the terms of service. If you have any questions I'd be very happy to help. When booking your dog in for their groom at YourDog Lymm, you are agreeing to all of the terms & conditions outlined below. Thank you.
Grooming experience/refusal of service
YourDog Lymm strives to provide all dogs with a calm, relaxing and stress-free grooming experience. Please advise me of any existing medical conditions or behavioural needs before your dog’s groom. If your dog has shown any signs of aggression before, either whilst being groomed or otherwise, you must make me aware of this before their groom. If necessary, a muzzle or buster collar will be used to ensure your dog’s and my safety and you will always be informed of this. All dogs react differently to being groomed. If your dog has additional needs (e.g. aggressive behaviour) their groom may take longer than usual and there may be an additional cost added to your regular grooming price. YourDog Lymm has the right to refuse any services at any time and for any reason. If your dog becomes too stressed or dangerous to groom, YourDog Lymm reserves the right to refuse or stop any grooming services. In the event of an incomplete groom due to your dog’s behaviour, the full grooming price will still be charged.
It's important to have realistic expectations when it comes to what styling and finishes can be achieved if your dog has any behavioural challenges or are uncomfortable with any of the grooming equipment whilst they're being groomed. I will always communicate this to you and I kindly ask for your understanding and patience. Keeping your dog comfortable & safe will always be my priority. In this instance, I may recommend some grooming training for you to practice at home with your dog, and/or a grooming schedule specific to your dog's needs & ongoing training to support them in their grooming requirements. In which case, hopefully, we can achieve the best result that works for your dog, you and also myself.
Cancellation and no-show policy
YourDog Lymm politely asks that you give at least 72 hours’ notice if you need to change or cancel your appointment. YourDog Lymm is a small one-to-one grooming studio and therefore it can take some time for me to fill cancelled appointments. I kindly ask that you give me as much notice as you can if you are unable to make your appointment for any reason, so I have time to try and offer your appointment to somebody else and also hopefully be able to offer your dog an alternative appointment that is convenient for you. If you cancel or rearrange within 72 hours of your scheduled appointment time, the full price of the groom will still be charged, as I would be unable to fill your appointment at such short notice. If you forget your appointment or fail to show up at the agreed date and time, the full grooming fee will still need to be paid. Failure to pay the no-show/late cancellation fee will result in all future appointments being cancelled and this would need to be paid before you can rebook.
Please be aware that if you do need to cancel or rearrange at short notice, I may not have another appointment available to offer your dog and they may need to be added to my cancellation waiting list.
Vaccinations
Your dog must be up to date with all of their vaccinations before attending their groom, this is for the safety of your dog as well as others. Please check with your vet if you are unsure if your dog has had all of their necessary vaccinations.
Before your dog’s groom
Please ensure that your dog has been to the toilet and had plenty of opportunity to do so before their grooming appointment. I kindly ask that you always bring your dog to their appointment on a secure lead for their safety.
When dropping off and collecting your dog, I kindly ask that you park on my driveway as instructed at the time of booking. Please do not block or park in front of any of my neighbours' driveways at any time, even if just for a couple of minutes. Thank you for your cooperation & consideration.
Late arrival policy
I kindly ask that you arrive on time for your appointment to ensure your dog’s groom is a calm and relaxing experience finished to the highest standard. Please do give me a call if you’re running a little late. I work on a one-to-one basis with all dogs and therefore time between my appointments is very limited. If you are late this will impact my following appointments. If you are more than 15 minutes late, unfortunately, you will have missed your allocated appointment time and therefore I will no longer have enough time to complete your dog’s groom. Rushing your dog’s groom can cause unnecessary stress to your dog and increase the risk of accidents and injury. If you are more than 15 minutes late and have missed your allocated appointment time, your dog’s appointment would still need to be paid in full. Failure to pay for your missed appointment will result in all future appointments being cancelled and this would need to be paid before you can rebook or reschedule.
Late collection
I kindly ask that you are contactable at all times when your dog is being groomed and that you collect your dog promptly once their groom is complete. I always work one to one when grooming your dog and due to this time between my appointments is very limited. There are no crates or holding pens in the studio to keep any dogs that haven’t been collected promptly. If you are late collecting your dog this will impact my other clients as I can't begin my next appointment until your dog has been picked up. I allow up to 15 minutes for you to collect your dog once I have notified you that they're ready via a text or phone call, please let me know which communication method is best for you. After 15 minutes have passed, there will be a late collection charge of £5. After 30 minutes have passed, this charge would be £10. Every 15 minutes thereafter an extra £5 charge will be applied to your dog's groom price.
Any late collection charges must be paid upon collection of your dog.
If you require more than 15 minutes' notice to collect your dog, please let me know when you bring your dog to their appointment and I can let you know what time your dog will be ready for collection before their groom begins.
Fleas and ticks
If you are aware that your dog has fleas, you must notify me at least 72 hours' before your appointment so that your dogs appointment can be rescheduled free of charge. YourDog Lymm does not accept dogs with fleas to prevent cross-contamination with other dogs. I strongly advise that your dog is routinely treated with a flea prevention treatment, usually between every 1-3 months depending on which method is used. Please seek advice from your vet to discuss the most suitable option for your dog.
If you cancel your dog's groom within 72 hours of your scheduled appointment due to your dog having fleas, the full price of your dog's groom would still need to be paid as per my cancellation policy.
If fleas are discovered during your dog’s groom, I will treat your dog with a flea shampoo, which will kill any live fleas. However, you would then need to treat your dog with flea prevention and treat your home, bedding, car, etc.
There will be an extra charge of £20 added to the price of your dog's groom. This is to cover the cost of the flea shampoo, treatment for my studio and the time it will take to clean and sanitize all tools and equipment inside to ensure the studio is protected & free from fleas.
If the case of fleas is found to be severe, I will stop your dog's groom and you will kindly be asked to come and collect your dog. I will be very happy to book another appointment for your dog once they have received the relevant treatment. In this instance, the full grooming price will still be charged.
If a tick is found on your dog during their groom I will notify you. I offer a tick removal service for a £5 additional fee.
Matted coat policy
Dogs with matted coats will require extra care, attention and time. Clipping & scissoring matted coats causes excessive wear and tear on grooming equipment including blunting scissors & blades, which then must be resharpened at a cost. Therefore if your dog's coat is matted, your dog's groom will incur additional costs. This will vary depending on the severity of the matting and the size of your dog and starts from £5 for one small area.
If your dog's coat is matted in multiple areas, the extra matting charge will be more and will start from £10.
This will be discussed before I begin your dog’s groom via a phone call once I've thoroughly assessed your dog’s coat condition. If your dog’s coat is matted, I will clip their coat short as this is the most humane and pain-free method to remove matting. This is in line with the Animal Welfare Act (2006).
If your dog is in pain due to matting, YourDog Lymm reserves the right to stop the groom and will advise you to seek veterinary attention. The full grooming fee would still be charged.
There is a greater risk of nicking a matted dog during the grooming process. YourDog Lymm will not be held responsible for any injuries sustained whilst grooming a dog that is matted or any aftereffects. This includes, but is not limited to swelling, clipper rash, hematomas, redness, itchiness, self-inflicted abrasions and veterinary fees.
If your dog needs to be clipped short due to matting, please remember that your dog’s coat will grow back very soon and that matting can be painful and cause skin irritations, sores, infections and discomfort for your dog. Matting can also disrupt proper airflow and circulation, which can make it difficult for your dog to regulate their body temperature and cause hematomas. I would be very happy to provide further advice on maintaining your dog’s coat. Keeping your dog on my recommended grooming schedule along with regular brushing at home will help to prevent your dog’s coat from becoming matted and keep your dog’s coat healthy and in great condition.
It's important for your dog's health and wellbeing to choose a style for your dog that suits both their & your lifestyle and to keep your dog on their recommended professional grooming schedule. I look forward to working with you and achieving a routine & style that works best for you & your dog.
Accidents
All necessary precautions will be taken to ensure your dog’s safety whilst they are being groomed and in my care. Unfortunately, accidents can happen. Dogs are wiggly creatures by nature & are liable to sudden movements. Dog grooming tools by necessity are sharp instruments. In the event of an accident or injury, YourDog Lymm will contact you immediately, administer the relevant first aid and if necessary seek medical attention from my local veterinary practice. You must always be contactable when your dog is being groomed. YourDog Lymm cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred because of an accident or injury whilst your dog is in my care. You will be given a full explanation should any accidents or injuries occur upon collection of your dog.
YourDog Lymm strongly recommends that you have adequate pet insurance for your dog.
Satisfaction
At YourDog Lymm, customer satisfaction is extremely important and I want you to be very happy with your dog’s groom. Prior to your dog's groom, an initial consultation will take place to discuss how you would like your dog to be groomed. I value all of my clients' feedback greatly and if for any reason you are unhappy, I kindly ask that you contact me directly and let me know within 24 hours of their appointment so that the issue can be resolved quickly and to your satisfaction. And I will ensure that next time your dog is pampered to absolute pawfection.
Imagery/videos
YourDog Lymm would love to share photographs and videos of your pooch on my website & social pages. These images and videos may include before and after shots for development & training purposes and marketing & promotional activities.
If you would prefer that your dog not be featured on these channels, please do let me know.
